"Living the Covenant" to Help Deepen, Strengthen Discipleship
The conference, scheduled for Sept. 9-10, is an exploration of the baptismal covenant as a spiritual foundation for discipleship and witness.
DALLAS (SMU) -- “Living the Covenant,” a learning retreat to help lay and clergy leaders of diverse ministries with people of all ages explore and answer questions to deepen their own discipleship and strengthen the discipleship of those the lead, will take place Sept. 9-10 at Perkins School of Theology.
Co-sponsored by Discipleship Ministries of The United Methodist Church and Perkins School of Theology, "Living the Covenant" is an exploration of the baptismal covenant as a spiritual foundation for discipleship and witness that makes key connections to Wesleyan practices in the process.
"Living The Covenant" will run from 1 p.m. Sept. 9 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10. Workshop leaders include Taylor Burton-Edwards and Steven Manskar of Discipleship Ministries, Heather Josselyn-Cranson of Regis College (Weston, Mass.), singer and song writer Michael Bell, as well as Mark Stamm, Professor of Christian Worship at Perkins.
