The Dorothy Sloan Fellowship Fund, established by generous gifts from her friends and family, supports scholars at any stage of their careers who plan to pursue research on bibliographical projects or women’s history at the DeGolyer Library.
Clements Center Grants
The William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies offers Research Travel Grants to applicants who live outside the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area in order to encourage a broader and more intensive use of the special collections at DeGolyer Library.
Grants are $700 per week that can be awarded for periods of one to two weeks to help to defray costs of travel, lodging, and research materials.
- Clements Center-DeGolyer Library Research Travel Grants helps promote the use of the DeGolyer's extraordinary holdings related to Southwestern history.
- Business History Travel Grants are available for scholars who are working on business-related projects.
- Ruth Morgan Research Fellowships encourage work in women’s history or political history.

Deadlines
Four separate research travel grants are available, with applications considered two times annually: May 15 (for use between June 1 and November 30) and November 15 (for use between December 1 and May 30). All grant funds must be used in their entirety during the award period.
Applications
You should provide a project outline and explain how work in the DeGolyer Library's collections will enhance their research. Please specify the length of research time needed at the library. You should also include a curriculum vitae and two letters of reference from persons who can assess the significance of your project and scholarship record.
