SMU’s International Center provides international students a wide range of services, all designed to help you make a seamless transition to your new University home.
International transfer students apply to SMU using the same application as domestic transfer students. The transfer application and other information about transferring are available from the SMU Admissions Office. Be sure to review our International Transfer Student Application Checklist!
In addition, international transfer students who have completed coursework at foreign institutions must provide a professional evaluation of their transcripts to the Admissions Office. Please refer to our Instructions for Submitting Foreign Post-Secondary Transcripts for further information.
A new I-20 document is also required prior to your start of classes. Once you pay your deposit to SMU, the International Center will provide you with information about receiving your SMU I-20. The International Student and Scholars Office is also available to answer all of your questions about studying in the United States.
