Two Class Of 2021 EMBAs Named Best And Brightest

“Poets and Quants” released its long-anticipated list of the "Best & Brightest Executive MBAs of 2021" this week. Two SMU Cox Class of ’21 EMBAs, Caitlyn Maddox and Javi Virk, made the list.

“Poets and Quants” released its long-anticipated list of the "Best & Brightest Executive MBAs of 2021" this week. Two SMU Cox Class of ’21 EMBAs, Caitlyn Maddox and Javi Virk, made the list.

Maddox, a Dallas native, graduated from the EMBA program with a 4.0 GPA. Her determination and drive were evident throughout the program even when faced with challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The mother of two young children, Maddox homeschooled her children while completing the EMBA program. A Cox Distinguished Business Leader and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, she is currently exploring businesses to buy or start.

Virk serves as chief operations officer for Arcadia Anesthesia, OrthoMed Staffing Anesthesia and FairHealth Solutions Billing. An SMU undergrad in biology, Virk not only completed his EMBA degree, but simultaneously completed a Master of Science in Finance (MSF), earning a 3.9 GPA in both programs. He was named SMU Kyle D. Miller Scholar (2020-2021) and participated in the Cox Energy Club. He served as co-social chair of EMBA Class of ‘21 & Student Ambassador and was a member of SMU’s Beta Gamma Sigma. He and his team-mates took first place in the EMBA Business Plan Competition.
