Scholar Requirements

As a Rotunda Scholar, there are distinct requirements for all four years. The requirements are designed to foster young adult and collegiate development each academic year.

Early Move-In & The RISE Institute

Scholars are required to move-in a week early. During that week, scholars will attend a multi-day orientation program known as The RISE Institute.

UNIV 1210

Scholars are required to take UNIV 1210 during their first academic year. We highly recommend students take UNIV during the fall semester, as is often most beneficial for students earlier on. UNIV is an academic and personal development class designed to improve academic skills and develop life-long skills.

Academic Success Meetings

Scholars are required to have a monthly one-on-one Academic Success meeting, completing 3 per semester for a total of 6 for the academic year. Discussion topics during these meetings vary per student but will likely include academics, overall adjustment, and resources.

Peer Counselor Meetings

Scholars are required to have 2 monthly one-on-one Peer Counselor meetings, completing 6 per semester for a total of 12 for the academic year. Discussion topics during these meetings vary per student but will likely include academics and peer support.

Study Hall

Scholars are required to complete 2 hours of study hall per week during the academic year. All study hall hours are tracked through an online program. Scholars can swipe in to obtain their hours in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), A-LEC, or Scholar's Den

Event Credits

Scholars are required to complete 8 event credits for the academic year. Events must contain a cultural, academic, or professional component. At the beginning of every month, scholars will be emailed a list of pre-approved events. Credit for events outside of the pre-approved list are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
