The Women's and Gender Studies Program offers many awards to students and faculty.
AWARDS OPEN TO WOMEN’S AND GENDER STUDIES MINORS
Our program also offers both cash and tuition awards for Women’s and Gender Studies minors:
- The Betty Janette Maynard Essay Award of $2,000 to an entering senior student with a declared Women’s and Gender Studies minor.
- The Betty Janette Maynard Scholarship, a tuition award of up to $5000 to an entering senior student with a declared Women’s and Gender Studies minor, and who qualifies for financial aid.
- $1500 Betty Janette Maynard Research Assistantships for Women’s and Gender Studies minors selected to work with a professor in his or her gender-related research projects.
- The Ann Early Award, given to a student with outstanding scholarship and service to the Women’s and Gender Studies Program.
This year, SMU Women's and Gender Studies presented awards to several outstanding students, who were honored at the Women's Studies 2009 Award Ceremony.
