Upper-Division Candidates in Voice Performance
Performance Evaluation Criteria Sheet

Students completing two years of performance study in voice will be expected to take a 15 minute jury at the end of the fourth semester of study. This jury must include at least three languages and three stylistic periods. The student must demonstrate accurate musicianship and technical facility (breath management, accurate intonation, facility in legato and coloratura passagework, and clear enunciation), and an  ability to communicate the meaning of a text.

At the time of the jury,
the voice faculty will review student files to determine if:

1. student's average semester grades for four semesters is "B" or higher.

2. the repertoire consists of at least 20 memorized songs/arias
    in English, Italian, and German or French
    from at least three style periods.

3. two successful performances on campus
    in General Recital, Studio Recital, or other recital.
