Charlie Rose is recognized as one of America's premier interviewers.
He is the executive producer, executive director and host of Charlie
Rose, a nightly PBS interview program that became nationally syndicated
in 1993. Rose's guests routinely include major international political
figures and a mixture of renowned personalities from literature, theatre,
film, science, medicine and business. Distinguished guests have ranged
from political leaders Nelson Mandela and Mikhail Gorbachev to musicians
Yo-Yo Ma and Bruce Springsteen. The Emmy award-winning journalist is
also a correspondent for 60 Minutes II. Prior to starting his PBS program,
Rose served as the anchor of Nightwatch, CBS's first late-night news
broadcast.
Rose, a native Henderson, North Carolina, holds both a BA and law degree from Duke University. He recently received the Futrell Award, an award presented by Duke University to alumni who have exhibited excellence in communications.
