Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series Endowed President’s Scholars Fund

In recognition of the Tate Lecture Series’ silver anniversary season, in 2006-07 the University established the Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series Endowed President’s Scholars Fund. The Fund directly benefits SMU’s President’s Scholars program, comprised of a tight-knit community of highly motivated students, dedicated faculty and staff mentors. Gifts made in any amount support Scholars by providing additional resources toward independent research, international study and academic programs.

Last year, generous support from our Tate patrons generated nearly $10,000 toward this initiative and helped SMU attract and serve some of the nation’s highest-achieving students. In addition, SMU extends thanks to the lead underwriting donors of the Tate Endowed President’s Scholars Fund, Susan and Larry Hirsch and Ashlee and Chris Kleinert, for their continued support of the Tate Lecture Series. If you would like to make a gift to the President’s Scholars Fund, you may do so through season renewals or single event purchases or by calling 214-768-8283.
