Application Information 2008

The SMU-IN-TAOS application is short and simple. Please read and follow the instructions on the application form.

Incomplete applications, including those submitted without transcripts, will not be evaluated for admission.

Acceptance to the program for May Term study is determined by committee; Summer I and August Term admissions operate on a rolling basis until the application deadline..

1. Complete the SMU-IN-TAOS 2008Application (Adobe Acrobat required).
2. Obtain a transcript of your academic record. Unofficial transcripts, including Access.SMU printouts, can be used.
3. Return forms to the SMU-IN-TAOS Office, addresses below (via mail, to the PO Box; hand delivery or FedEx to the street address). The Medical Form included with the application must be signed by a Notary Public. A Notary Public can be found in the SMU-IN-TAOS Office. Proof of identification is required (State License, passport, SMU Id). Application forms without Notarization will not be considered complete.

4. Upon acceptance to the program, a Student Course Request Form will be generated.
5. All accepted students must pick up Student Course Request Forms from the SMU-IN-TAOS Office.
6. Students should obtain Academic Adviser's signature on the Student Course Request Form.
7. Return completed form to the Taos office; all program participants will be registered through the SMU-IN-TAOS Office.
8. Full payment is due when Course Request Form is returned.

9. Students who choose to attend SMU-IN-TAOS during June or August Terms can apply for a Clements Tuition Assistance Award. Scholarships are available for up to four hours of tuition assistance. Preference is given to students attending in June Term. Application materials are due Tuesday, 4 March 2008.

10. Resident Advisor positions are available for both May term (May 11-28) and August term (August 1-18) on the SMU-in-Taos campus in northern New Mexico. Experienced, motivated students will provide Resident Advisor guidance and oversight for students taking summer classes on the Taos campus. Students interested in the position may apply by following the application procedures found at Resident Advisor Positions.
