APPLICATION EVALUATION PROCEDURE

Students may take up to four hours in May and August terms

May Term applicants are evaluated by faculty committee following the application due date. Admissions criteria vary by year, but include academic standing, GPA, and prior Honor Code/Student Code of Conduct violations. As May Term admissions are done by class, it is to your advantage to apply for admission to more than one course. (Those seeking Cultural Formations credit, for instance, should list two to three choices on their applications.)

June and August Term admissions are made as applications are received. Those students planning to attend SMU-IN-TAOS in June or August are also eligible to apply for the Clements Tuition Assistance Scholarship available through the SMU-IN-TAOS Office. Applications are due in March each year. A committee of faculty review all applicants and determine award amounts. Most years, students are eligible for up to six hours of tuition assistance, though awards of one to three credit hours of tuition are more common. Scholarship preference is given to those students enrolling in June Term courses.

Additional information concerning admissions procedures can be obtained by calling the SMU-IN-TAOS Office, 214-768-3657.
