“Destination México: A Foreign Land a Step Away” is the companion catalogue to a 2001 exhibition of tourism-related materials from SMU’s DeGolyer Library.  The catalogue documents the rich materials to be found in the DeGolyer’s collection.  Albums, maps, photographs, brochures, posters, postcards, guide books and more illustrate the growth of tourism from the railroad age to the jet age.  The 101-page catalogue contains 26 color images and 30 black-and-white images.  The Rounce & Coffin Club of Los Angeles chose the catalogue to be part of the 2002 Western Books Annual Exhibition.  The catalog focus on the rise of U.S. tourism to Mexico from the 1880s through the 1950s.
