Found ourselves this morning below the church of Bonnet Quarre; passed General Hampton's fine estate, Donaldsonville, etc.

Among our passengers are Mr. and Mrs. Maeder (Clara Fisher that was).  She has a fine child.  White hair and fair skin, exactly such as I anticipate my Alice will be when I see her.

Wrote to Brander McK. and W., Wm. Christy and R. Triplett about my script.

Wednesday, June 1, 1836

On board Superior.  Passed Port Hudson, Point Coupee, St. Francisville, Tunica Bend, mouth of Red River, Fort Adams.
