Understanding student senate funding

THE CHARTERED ORGANIZATIONS FUND (COF)

Who is eligible?
    Only fully chartered student organizations (does not include probationary and temporary groups)

What can be funded?
   
*Capital items not funded in annual budgets
    *New programs not requested in budgets
    *New and unforeseen costs associated with programs
    *Programs for which funding was denied in annual budgets for any other reasons than standards.

THE SENATE FUND

Who is eligible?
   
Any campus group or organizations, including graduate organizations and organizations with a probationary or temporary charter.

What can be funded?
   
*Anything may be requested, but please note that Student Senate does not fund for debt. (What is this?)

SUMMER SENATE

Approximately $25,000 is allocated to any campus group or organization during four summer meetings. 

ANNUAL BUDGETS

Only fully-chartered organizations (no probationary or temporary) organizations are eligible to request an annual budget each spring through the Student Senate Finance Committee.  Click here to find out more information about the Annual Budget process.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All requests must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Friday to be heard in the Finance Meeting the following week (excluding holidays and breaks).  Please keep in mind that funding is a two week process and you must plan accordingly.
