The SMU Staff Association proudly supports the USO Dallas/Fort Worth by hosting a Supply Drive.

The USO has a list of ongoing needs, which includes things like travel sized toiletries (shaving cream, deodorant, and toothpaste are the hot ticket items) beef jerky, and chocolate bars.  Below is a complete list of needs.  Departments and organizations that would like to host a USO Collection box send an email to:  SMUSA_News@mail.smu.edu

While departing troops are waiting for their flight back to the
Middle East, they are encouraged to visit the United Through Reading Room.
The room is a library of children's books, and the troops select a book for each of their
children.  USO Volunteers record the troops reading the books and when they are finished the DVD
and book are shipped home to the children.  Kids love this opportunity to see and hear their parent's
voice and read the book along with them.  Only new books are accepted - they want the best
for the soldier's kids!
