The 79th Texas Legislature will confront a host of medical and health issues from banning stem cell research at Texas universities to restoring Medicaid and funding to child healthcare services to imposing stricter standards for the state’s nursing homes.

Prominent among the new bills to be filed this session is a measure to restrict access to cold and allergy medications.  Professor Buynak is available to explain the chemical make-up and uses of pseudoephrine, one of the ingredients used to make illegal methamphetamines.
