How to load the Amharic font on your computer

To see "Hi, how are you" in Amharic — ሠላም እንደምናቸሀ — you must have the font loaded on your computer.

A very useful resource is the font how-to page of the Amharic version of Wikipedia at http://am.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Can%27t_see_the_font%3F.

Under "GF Zemen," select "self install 9x/Me/NT/2K/XP" and save the file to your computer in a place where you can remember.

Click once on "Start" in the lower left corner of your computer and then select "RUN." This will bring up a window.

Click on the "Browse" button, locate the "GeezFontInstall.exe" file on your computer and select "Open"

Then click on "Okay" in the "run" window.

Click "install" and choose to install the font under "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts."
