South America

  • Andres, Peru. (Spring 2010) Andres, a graduate student in geophysics in Dedman College's Huffington Department of Earth Sciences, is working on a heat flow map of Peru for his doctoral dissertation.
  • Bob, Argentina (Summer 2008) Bob, a graduate student in the Master of Liberal Studies program and a vice president in Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division, is participating in a 10-day trip to Argentina with the Human Rights Education Program.
  • Judah (Fall 2007) Judah, who graduated from SMU in 2004 with a degree in electrical engineering, participated this fall in the Jungle Marathon, an extreme ultra-marathon through the Brazilian Amazon that is considered the toughest foot race in the world.
  • Kelly, (Spring 2006) Chile. Teaching English to Chilean businesspeople.
  • Lisa, Argentina. (Summer 2008) Lisa is a senior from Dallas majoring in religious studies. She is participating in a 10-day trip to Argentina with the Human Rights Education Program.
  • Spring Break 2007 Adventures SMU students spent spring break around the world volunteering, traveling with faculty members to France, Spain, Germany and the American South, and teaching Navajo children.
