Jami Fullerton

Jami Fullerton earned her doctorate from the University of North Texas in 1997 and received her BA in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. Prior to entering academe, Dr. Fullerton worked in the advertising industry in Dallas. Now in her seventh year, Dr. Fullerton is on the faculty of the School of Journalism and Broadcasting at Oklahoma State University, where she teaches undergraduate advertising and graduate level mass communication courses, including Mass Communication Theory and Research Methods. /p>

Dr. Fullerton's research interests include the portrayal of gender in advertising and cross-cultural communication. She has published studies in academic journals on international and ethnic advertising and advertising education.  The College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University named her outstanding researcher in 2001.  Dr. Fullerton's current research program is focused on U.S. public diplomacy efforts since 9/11.

Dr. Fullerton spent three consecutive summers teaching and researching in Uzbekistan and Kazahkstan funded by US State Department  grants. In 2003 and 2004, she received a  university grant to study international reaction to the State Department's Shared Values Initiative in London.  A native Oklahoman, Dr. Fullerton lives in Tulsa with her husband Sam Fullerton and their 2 1/2 year old daughter Helen.
