Students Requesting a Graduate Degree Progress Report through Access.SMU Self-Service


The eGDPR is an electronic Graduate Degree Progress Report (eGDPR) that can be requested by students or advisors/faculty using Access.SMU.  The GDPR itself will not appear in Access.SMU.   It will be e-mailed to the person requesting it at his/her campus e-mail account.

 The following instructions explain how a student may request their own GDPR through Self Service

Processing an eGDPR

There are two ways to run an eGDPR: 

Option 1: After logging into Access.SMU, look for the Student Self-Service pagelet:
 


Under Academics, you will see a link that says Degree Progress. Click on this link. 


 

Option 2: Navigate to the following page : Self Service, Academics, Degree Progress, View Degree Progress Report

For students who are only in a graduate program(s), the following page will load:

Academic Institution

Defaults to Southern Methodist University. Leave as is.

Report Type

Defaults to Graduate DPR. 

Go

Click on Go to process the request. 

For students who are in both a graduate and undergraduate program, the page will load so that you can select which report you want:

Defaults to Southern Methodist University. Leave as is.

Report Type

Click on the report type that you want: Degree Progress Report for an undergraduate report or Graduate DPR for the graduate report.

Go

Click on Go to process the request. 


After clicking on Go, you will see “Processing” blinking on the upper right side of the screen.  When the processing is complete, you will see the following screen:



 

 

Note:  If this screen does not appear, the Degree Progress Report has not been sent to your SMU email account.  The process must be repeated to obtain an eDPR/eGDPR.   

Students who are not in an active status due to graduation, suspension, etc, cannot run a degree progress report.   As long as you are able to use Access.SMU, you may still run an unofficial transcript.  If you try to run a (graduate) degree progress report, you will receive the following message:
