The reaffirmation process has reached its later stages with the On-site visit conducted April 5-7, 2011.

SMU's accreditation was reaffirmed on December 5, 2011 at the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Southern Methodist University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, specialist, professional, and doctorate degrees.
