Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas (ICUT) and EPA Region 6 will conduct a campus environmental compliance audit for Southern Methodist University (SMU) beginning beginning June 7, 2010. SMU is the fifth institution to be audited in Texas under the program. The peer audit team will address environmental compliance criteria issues with Jackie Baxley of HRP Associates supervising the audit process.
The majority of buildings located on campus will be included in the audit including, but not limited to, the following: Foundren Science, Dedman Life Science, Heroy Hall, Owens Arts School, Dawson Service Center, MAC Building, Junkins Building, Embrey Building, on campus food service areas, mechanical rooms and elevator spaces. The opening conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on June 7, 2010 in Hughes-Trigg, Forum.
