SMU's Office of Police and Risk Management endeavors to create a secure work environment and reduce risk at a reasonable cost to the University.

SMU is committed to a strong and active risk management program. The Risk Management Department coordinates information and acts in an advisory and facilitating capacity with regard to fire protection, loss control activities, safety, claims administration and reviews, in consultation with appropriate administrative personnel, the risk aspects of contracts or other legal documents.
