Learn How to Play It Safe 

An Engaged Learning project is a great opportunity to enhance your education. It allows you to take an active role in pursuing your area of interest and gives you freedom to explore a real-world situation in the community.  But what would you do if you become ill in a foreign country or an organization you are working with asks you to sign a release or a contract?  These unique experiences bring unexpected challenges, which is where the Office of Police and Risk Management and the Office of Legal Affairs can provide guidance and assistance.

 

Things to consider as you embark on this new adventure…

  • Are you handling hazardous materials?
    • Are you working with minors?
  • Will your project involve local or international travel?
  • Will you be exposed to environmental hazards?
  • Are you working with a separate organization?
  • Do you know your legal boundaries?
  • Are you aware of the conditions of your work site?
