ELBERT B. GREYNOLDS, JR.
Elbert B. Greynolds, Jr., Associate Professor of
Accounting in the Cox School of Business, received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a
Master of Professional Accountancy and Ph.D. in Business Administration from
Georgia State University. After beginning his academic career at Georgia State
University, he joined SMU's Cox School of Business in 1974. In addition to his
teaching, he has served the Cox School in numerous administrative roles,
including as chair of the Accounting, Business Law and Tax Department, assistant
dean of undergraduate studies and associate dean for B.B.A. programs. His areas
of expertise include computer-aided instruction, computerized financial
modeling, management control systems, managerial accounting and time value of
money analysis. He has published four books on calculator and computer analysis
in business and authored numerous guidebooks and manuals, monographs,
professional articles and papers, as well as curriculum development materials. A
dedicated teacher, Professor Greynolds has been recognized with two Rotunda
Outstanding Faculty Teaching Awards, two Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Teacher
Awards and the Panhellenic and IFC Excellence in Teaching Award. He retires as
Professor Emeritus of Accounting.
