Fellowship Recipients

Arrival & Line-Up Please report to the first floor of Dallas Hall by 4:45 p.m. on April 16, 2012. The academic procession from Dallas Hall to McFarlin Auditorium will begin at 5:25 p.m. The ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. and should last a little over an hour. In case of inclement weather, please report to the basement of McFarlin Auditorium. If you are marching with Dedman College, you will line up in the west wing; if you are marching with Cox, Meadows, or Engineering you will line up in the east wing. Staff proctors will line you up in the order in which you are to cross the stage. You will be handed an index card listing the award you are to receive. Please do not lose this card as it will be handed to the announcer as you cross the stage during the ceremony. The March During the march, as you come onto the stage, you will hand your index card to the lector; he will read your name and the award you are receiving and keep the card. You will then receive congratulations from the Provost, President, Dean and Trustee representative. Note: If you are receiving more than one departmental award, the other award(s) will also be listed on the index card and the announcer will read the second/third award while you are on the stage. You will receive a medallion, lapel pin and certificate to commemorate the occasion after you cross the stage. Please return to your seat after leaving the stage. The Reception A reception for you and your guests immediately follows the ceremony on the Dallas Hall Quadrangle. SMU does not provide a location, nor is responsible for backpacks, purses, or other personal belongings during the ceremony. Please do not bring those items or leave them with your guests. |

In case of inclement weather, please report to the second floor lobby of McFarlin Auditorium. School proctors will line you up in the appropriate location and in the order in which you are to cross the stage. You will be handed an index card listing your name and the honor society or program in which you are being inducted or are a part of. This card will be handed to the announcer as you cross the stage during the ceremony. Please do not lose this card! The March During the march, as you come onto the stage, you will hand your index card to the lector; he will read your name and the honor society or program in which you are being inducted or are a part of and he will keep the card. You will then receive congratulations from the Provost, President, Dean and Trustee representative. Note: If you are being inducted into more than one honor society, line up with the society in which you would like to sit, and the other society name(s) will also be listed on the index card and the announcer will read the second/third honor society name while you are on stage. You will be given a lapel pin on stage to commemorate the occasion. Please return to your seat after leaving the stage.
