Personal Training: Before and After

We are starting off a new project series of "Before" and "After" shots of our clients. A picture is worth a thousand words, and we hope it's enough to convince you that our trainers are dedicated to helping you reach your personal fitness goals. We've also included a personal training success story.


Before After
I've been doing 'Lunch with Lamont' for the past 6-months or so. I've always been active and kept a pretty intense workout schedule but wanted to see some more results. I thought 'I'm killing myself and not seeing what I want to see.' Ever since I started Lunch with Lamont, I noticed some results but didn’t realize I had such great results until I put my pictures side by side. The workouts are only 30 minutes twice per week. It sounds easy but....NOPE. It's perfect, you have in your head that you can get through it because it is only 30 minutes so you really push yourself and before you know it you are full of sweat and feel GREAT!! I recommend this class to anyone young, old, in shape, out of shape. Lamont truly notices everyone's individual strengths and weaknesses. He helps everyone improve their fitness level and we have a lot of fun doing it. We hate him, but we love him. :) Loving Lunch with Lamont.

Fitness training at Dedman Center has been the answer to my prayers.  My best friend and I began a weight loss program with Derek Ruiz in January of 2010.  My biggest concerns were my age (53) and a recent shoulder operation.  Derek started us out slowly and safely, taking into consideration several old injuries and the recent surgery.  He has been quite motivating, encouraging, punctual, flexible on times, and not at all intimidating.  After gaining strength he then ratcheted up the program.  We are still continuing to increase the intensity of the workouts.  My favorite thing about Derek is that he personalizes and varies the workouts so that each one is anything but boring.  I have lost 48 pounds so far with 30 more to go. I have become so much stronger and happier.

I highly recommend Derek Ruiz as a fitness trainer.  He has kept things on track for weight loss and strengthening.


I have been working out with Derek Ruiz 3 times a week for 1 hour since January 2010. I am 54 and my starting weight was 260lbs (yikes!). I had knee surgery in December and was concerned about further injury when starting a workout program. Derek started me out slowly with a focus on strengthening my knees, and has been very effective in building up my strength and endurance. He is wonderful to work with! He has encouraged me, inspired me and pushed me just hard enough to build my confidence and get great results. I have lost 41 lbs. I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life and I feel great! He is the best and I highly recommend him as a trainer.
