Teams must be composed of 3 people due to our limit on equipment. 24 Teams maximum. Additional teams will be placed on a waitlist.
This event is totally and completely free to all SMU students and is meant to give you an exciting way to spend your morning/afternoon out at one of Dallas’s many area attractions!

8:50 am - Road Runner Charters is providing transportation to and from the lake! Be at the flag pole by 8:50 to guarantee your ride! Buses will leave by 9:00 am.
9:30 am - First teams begin! You and your team will jump in a kayak and paddle across the lake or hop on our OA bikes and cycle a 2.25 mile bike route (you will do both!). The event is timed but don’t forget to take a look around and enjoy the scenery!
10:00 am - Drinks and snacks will be served all day! Also check out our slackline, try your luck at fly-fishing, explore our tents and various other equipment, and be friendly and get to know some other people!
1:30 pm - We will start grilling! Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Veggie burgers, fruit, granola bars, water, Gatorade
Closed toe shoes, sun hat, Sun block, Sunglasses, reusable water bottle and breathable athletic clothing.
Welcome to a fun-filled day at one of Dallas’s many attractions! This event is designed to be a friendly excursion with various “obstacles” plus the added incentive of prizes for the ones who can complete everything the fastest!
When the race starts, each team is given a list of items to find/collect around White Rock Lake, as well as a map of the lake, a paper bag to put those items in, and a pencil to cross off things as they are completed.
The equipment used will be both the OA mountain bikes and OA kayaks. All participants will sign releases of liability either online beforehand or in person on race day. Helmets, life jackets, and paddles will be provided. Outdoor Adventures staff and well-marked directional signs will be strategically located throughout the course just to make sure no one deviates from the main paved trail.
For those who do not wish to compete or are waiting for their team to go, there will be a slackline set up, various sports equipment brought (feel free to bring your own), food, and fly fishing.
The first team races will begin at 09:30. Snacks/refreshments will be served all day.
