At SMU's VERTIGO bouldering competition, there is only one hard, fast rule...climb hard or go home. With competitive categories for every level of climber, you don't have to be a pro, but you do have to try! Free food, prizes, fun climbs, a slackline competition and plenty of good company are guaranteed to make VERTIGO an awesome competition!
The competition is open to climbers age 18 or older of any skill level. Categories are Scramblers (Beginner: V0 to V2), Boulderers (Intermediate: V3 to V5) and High-Ballers (Advanced: V6 and up). VERTIGO competition will be a redpoint format, meaning competitors can watch others climb and may attempt as many routes as desired within the allotted session time. Multiple attempts can be made on each route without incurring penalty although falls will be counted in case of tie. A climber's final score will be comprised of the top five scores from the day.
Registration is ONLINE ONLY and a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited as there is only one session capable of holding up to 45 climbers. Registration snags you a VERTIGO t-shirt, grab-bag of swag, entry for door prizes and participation in our slackline competition!
After climbing ends, we will serve food and begin the slackline. Awards to male and female climbers in each category and door prizes will follow. Plus, anyone could win a door prize! So if looking for a good time, come out and enjoy our VERTIGO Bouldering competition and remember, climb hard or go home!
