DALLAS
& THE METROPLEX

PHOTO GUIDE

Dallas is the 9th largest city in the United States with a population of some 1.2 million people and the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States with a total population numbering more than 6.1 million people.

The area contains a diverse, multi-culture population living in distinctive neighborhoods. Dallas is known for its many fine restaurants as well as cultural events, ranging from opera companies, symphonies, and art museums to auto races and the rodeo. North Texas has a number of fine universities and a leading medical school (U.T. Southwestern Medical Center). If you like to watch sports, the greater metropolitan area is home to professional football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer teams.

The climate in north Texas is characterized by mild winters (average daytime temperatures range from 55 to 70 F) and warm to hot summers (average daytime temperatures range from 84 to 96 F).
