Adventures Down Under Jessica Greim, Cat Conner and Kevin Lavelle toured Southeast Asia as part of their semester studying in Australia. Activities included kayaking off Koh Yao Noi island (Jessica is on the far right, in front), spending time in Bangkok and visiting Khao Lak, which suffered the greatest impact of the December 2004 tsunami. The students received a briefing from the Ecotourism Training Center and then went diving, some for the first time, led by ETC graduates. All of the ETC graduates lost family and housing in the tsunami, and the student group took up a collection to fund a scholarship in the next program. |
