
Snigdha Toodi, Copenhagen.
Snigdha, a President's Scholar, is a junior biology major,
minoring in chemistry and math, in Dedman College. In Fall 2009,
she is participating in the Medical Practice and Policy Program
at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad through SMU-in-Copenhagen.
Jordan Johansen, Germany.
Jordan is a junior with a triple major in music in SMU's Meadows School
of the Arts and anthropology and history in Dedman College, with minors in human rights
and European studies. In Summer 2009, she is participating in SMU-in-Germany and the
Global Leadership Program in Prague and Berlin, which trains students to become community,
business and political leaders through university courses, cultural activities and
community service.
Lydia Kapp, Taos.
Lydia is a sophomore with a double major in Spanish in Dedman College and theater studies
in Meadows School of the Arts. She is spending the June 2009 term in SMU-in-Taos, where
she will be taking plant biology and acting scene study. Then she plans to visit the city
of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where her sister works with the
nonprofit Food for the Hungry.
Rebecca Quinn, France and Spain.
Rebecca is junior with a triple major in art history in Meadows School of the Arts and Spanish and French in Dedman College.
In Summer 2009, she will begin her travels in the sunny South of France on the
Cote d’Azur before continuing to Barcelona. There, she will pursue a Richter
research project, studying the relationship between nationalized Catholicism,
the Franco regime and parish church architecture in the Catalunya region of
northeastern Spain. After Barcelona, Rebecca will continue to the Burgundy
region of France, where she will volunteer as a guest worker on an organic
vegetable farm before settling down for Fall 2009 in Madrid.
