Benjamin Johnson, Assistant Professor of History; Fred Olness, Professor in Physics; Carolyn Smith-Morris, Assistant Professor of Anthropology; and Larry Ruben, Professor in Biological Sciences were awarded 2008-2009 Ford Research Fellowships.

Ernest Jouriles, Professor in Psychology, has accepted an Associate Editor position for the Journal of Family Psychology, a major psychology journal.

Alicia Meuret, Assistant Professor in Psychology, has accepted an Associate Editor position for Behavior Therapy, a major psychology journal.

Monnie McGee, Associate Professor, was invited to participate in a NIH Special Study Section on Software Maintenance and Extension Program Announcement and Small Business Applications relating to computation.

Hon Keung (Tony) Ng, Assistant Professor in Statistical Sciences, was elected as Senior Member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Lisa Pon, Assistant Professor, has received a Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society to support research on her book project, “Place and Printed Icon: Forli’s Madonna of the Fire.”

Bill Dillon, Professor and Senior Associate Dean, Cox School of Business, ranks 16th in the world out of more than 2,700 scholars who published papers in four top marketing journals over the time period of 1982-2006, according to the Journal of Marketing study.

Robert Puelz, Chair and Professor in the Cox School of Business, was awarded the Spencer L. Kimball article of the year award for 2007 from the Journal of Insurance Regulation.

Delores M. Etter, TI Distinguished Chair in Engineering Education and a member of the National Academy of Engineering, has been named co-chair of a new National Research Council study on Modeling, Simulation, and Games.

Junfang Yu, Assistant Professor in Engineering Management, Information, and Systems, was awarded $85,000 by Sandia National Laboratories for implementing Collaborative Environment, Data Management and Security in Supply Chain System.

Reid Lyon, Distinguished Professor of Education Policy and Leadership, presented a paper on Evidence-based Reading Assessment and Instruction at the Bureau for Indian Affairs National Conference in St Louis, Missouri, January 20, 2009.

Greg Crespi, Professor of Law, has made the top ten list for the number of downloads among corporate law papers on the SSRN website for his recently published paper on choice of law.

Ellen S. Pryor, Homer R. Mitchell Endowed Professor of Law, was appointed as a Reporter on the American Law Institute’s Third Restatement of Torts.

William J. Abraham, Albert Cook Outler Professor of Wesley Studies, delivered the Denman Lectures on Evangelism at the Congress on Evangelism, held January 7th and 8th in Nashville, TN.

John C. Holbert, Lois Craddock Perkins Professor of Homiletics, has been asked to lecture at theological schools in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney, Australia in September 2009.
