1) Benjamin Johnson, Assistant Professor of History; Fred Olness, Professor in Physics; Carolyn Smith-Morris, Assistant Professor of Anthropology; and Larry Ruben, Professor in Biological Sciences were awarded 2008-2009 Ford Research Fellowships.

2) Ernest Jouriles, Professor in Psychology, has accepted an Associate Editor position for the Journal of Family Psychology, a major psychology journal.

Student Excellence News

1) Christin Siems, a student in the Meadows School of the Arts, wrote a play that was showcased at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Christin was one of five playwrights from across the nation chosen for this honor; as a recipient, she participated in a week-long fellowship and her play was presented by writers and actors attending the festival.

2) Art History major Ali Alibhai received a Fulbright Scholar Award to Morocco and was admitted with full funding to Harvard as a Ph.D. student in Near Eastern languages.
