Centennial Symposium November 2011

Discussions on the role and responsibilities of universities in their cities

A Special Symposium as part of the
100th Anniversary Commemoration of
Southern Methodist University’s Founding

Just as universities draw their strength from surrounding communities, institutions of higher learning can be catalysts for ideas that drive commerce and culture in their region and beyond.

On November 2011, many national experts attended the centennial symposium to discuss issues vital to our future as we explore how partnerships between universities and cities can shape the trajectory of an area’s economic growth and continued success.

Below are photographs from this special celebration.
