Provost's Finance Office
How much money do I have left? How can I get the funds I need to pay for an important new initiative? What’s the best way to buy the supplies I need? How much do you think I should pay my new employee?
These are the types of questions that can be answered by the staff of the Provost’s Finance Office. Comprised of director John Whaley and financial officer Anna Bland Aston, the Finance Office is responsible for the following:

Preparing the annual operating budget which now exceeds $46 million.
- Authorizing payment for services, supplies and travel.
- Reviewing requests to hire and making employee compensation and classification changes.
- Maintaining financial commitments made by the Provost and transferring funds accordingly.
- Ensuring that departments understand relevant policies and procedures.
- Conducting special projects that cross academic divisions.
