2004 TRENCHES PF 5E,
10, & 15
Katherine Blanchard, Field Supervisor
Laura Crowley, Assistant Field Supervisor
Week 2:
After a week or so of excavation,
we have had a variety of finds--painted coarseware, a fragment
of a fibula, and a (modern) compressed root-some of which tell
us a lot and some of which tell us not so much. Two of the most
interesting were a tile which showed signs of extreme burning
as well as a spindle whorl found today. While the spindle whorl
is one small thing, combined with a trapezoidal loom weight last
season, we might be able to start answering questions about activities
on this side of the structure.
