"Giddy-Up" and SMU Police Department Escort Services
The Giddy Up, a safety escort service provided by the Park 'N Pony Office, is a fleet that offers free campus rides to anyone on the main SMU campus only.
To obtain a courtesy ride, call 214-768-3388 day or night.
In the event that a Giddy Up driver is unavailable, the SMU Police Department provides courtesy ride service to anyone on SMU campus. However, please keep the following in mind when contacting the SMU Police Department
- As long as your safety is not immediately threatened, stay there and wait for the courtesy ride to arrive. The wait may be longer than normal during peak hours, however you will be picked up within a reasonable time.
- SMU Officers will respond to requests when they are not working higher priority police related matters.
- Service and cannot be summoned as a ride to classes or work during bad weather days.
- If there is a legitimate security concern, injury, or illness, contact the communications officer immediately to expedite the request. Priority police activity may delay some escort response times.
