120987    12:46 AM.    Possession/Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia.    Binkley Parking Garage.    Three students were issued citations for having drug paraphernalia in a vehicle.    Closed.

120988    4:21 AM.    Criminal Mischief.    McFarlin Auditorium.     A broken window was reported at this location.    Open.

120989    11:09 AM.    Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.    3128 Dyer St./Golf cart cage on side of building.    A staff member reported the theft of a golf cart at this location.    Open.

120990    1:13 PM.    Theft.    Main Quad.    Chi Omega Sorority reported the theft of their Greek letters from the lawn in front of Dallas Hall on 09/15/2012 between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.    Open.   

120991    6:32 PM.    Fire Alarm.    Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) House.    Officers and UPFD responded to a fire alarm activation at this location.  It was determined lysol spray set off the smoke detector.  UPFD silenced the alarm and reset the fire alarm panel.    Closed.

120993    10:45 AM.    Theft.    Expressway Tower/Park n Pony Office.    A theft was reported at this location.    Open.

120994    2:11 PM.    Possession of Fictitious License or ID.    SMU Police Department/Patterson Hall.    A wallet was found and turned into the police department.  The wallet contained a fake ID.  The student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer.    Closed.

120995    3:22 PM.    Theft.    SMU Bookstore/Barnes & Noble.    A theft was reported at this location.    Open.

120996    4:03 PM.    Duty on Striking an Unattended Vehicle.    Law Parking Garage.    A student reported someone damaged her vehicle and did not leave a note.    Open.

120997    4:17 PM.    Theft.    Umphrey Lee Center/Journalism Department News Room.    A student reported the theft of his sunglasses and SD card from his backpack.    Open.

121002    3:00 PM.    Theft.    Fondren Library Center.    A student reported his laptop was stolen but later found it at this location.    Closed.

121008    4:10 PM.    Assault.    Junkins Engineering Building.    A student reported an assault at this location.    Open.

121009    1:09 AM.    Possession of Fictitious License or ID/Public Intoxication.    Shuttles Hall:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possession of a fictitious license and public intoxication.    Closed.

121010    1:15 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.     Virginia Hall:    Two students were referred to the Student Conduct Office for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121011    2:43 AM.    Possession of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.    Mary Hay Hall:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Three other students were referred for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121012    3:22 AM.    Possession of Fictitious License or ID.    SMU Police Department:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possession of fictitious license.    Closed.

121014    10:53 PM.    Furnishing Alcohol to Minors.    3100 Binkley Ave:    The fraternity organization was referred to the Student Conduct Office for furnishing alcohol to minors and the incident is still under investigation.    Open.


October 6

121015    2:02 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Failure to Identify.    Sigma Chi House:        A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for failure to identify and was referred, cited, and transported to University Park Jail for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121016    6:33 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Fire Alarm/University Policy Conduct Violation.    Boaz Hall:    An officer responded to a fire alarm at the above location. The alarm panel indicate the alarm was caused by activation of a pull station. University Park Fire Department responded and checked the location. The fire supervisor noticed the alarm had been silenced and the pull station and alarm panel were reset. The officer made contact with the student who had activated the alarm. The student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for causing a Malicious or False Alarm and for damage to a pillar. He was also referred, cited, and transported to the University Park Jail for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121017    6:13 PM.    Possession of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.    Mary Hay Hall:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and was referred and transported to the Dallas County Jail for possession of marijuana.    Closed.

121018    12:00 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.    Airline Road:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121019    12:15  AM.    Fire Alarm.    Cockrell-McIntosh Hall:    An officer responded to an active fire alarm. The alarm panel was showing a smoke detector activation which was triggered by brunt food. University Park Fire Department arrived and the alarm was rest without further incident.    Closed..

121020    12:38 AM.    Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.    3000 SMU Blvd:     A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possession of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121022    01:50 AM.    Driving While Intoxicated/Failure to Leave ID and Render Aid/Possess of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle.    3400 Rosedale:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and failure to leave ID and render aid. He was also referred and transported to the Dallas County Jail for driving while intoxicated.    Closed.

121024    1:37 PM.    Theft.    Perkins Hall:    A student reported the theft of his bike.    Open.

121027    10:19 PM.    Public Intoxication.    Boaz Lane:    A non-affiliated person was cited and transported to the University Park Jail for public intoxication.    Closed.

121033    4:52 PM.    Theft.    Meadows Museum:    A non-affiliated individual reported the theft of their laptop.    Open.

Off Campus Sexual Assault.    3400 block of Asbury/University Park.    A student reported she was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance who is also an SMU student on 10/05/2012 to the University Park Police Department.  The case under investigation by the University Park Police Department.    Closed.  CRIME ALERT ISSUED.

121036    9:39 PM.    Possession of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.    Morrison McGinnis Hall.    A student was arrested for having marijuana and drug parahernalia in his room.    Closed.

121037    1:40 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor    3200 Block of Binkley Ave.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer for underage drinking.    Closed.

121038    2:26 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    SMU Blvd at Central Expressway.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer for underage drinking.    Closed.

121039    2:09 AM.    Driving Under the Influence by a Minor:    Dyer Court Lot.    A student was issued a citation for driving under the influence of alcohol and was also referred to the Student Conduct Officer.    Closed.

121044    9:40 PM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    SMU Alley.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct office for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121050    2:35 AM.    Public Intoxication/Disorderly Conduct/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    Perkins Auditorium.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office, cited and transported to the University Park Jail for public  intoxication. 121070    2:13 AM.    Unauthorized Use of A Motor Vehicle/Theft.    Binkley Parking Garage.    A Giddy-up driver reported the theft of his golf cart and radio.  he later recovered the golf cart but the radio was not recovered and is still missing.    Open.

121071    11:44 AM.    Theft.    Mustang Express Bus.    A student reported the theft of her wallet and the money inside the wallet.  Her wallet was recovered by the bus driver but the money inside the wallet was missing.    Open.

121086    1:12 AM.    Public Intoxication/Assault/Resisting Arrest.    6600 Durham.    A student was arrested and booked into the University Park Jail for being intoxicated in public, resisting arrest and assaulting officers.    Closed.

121089    9:47 PM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Assist Other Agency.    3230 Daniel Ave.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer for having a party that was serving alcohol to minors and two students were cited and released for underage drinking.    Closed.

121091    12:13 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.    Moore Hall Parking Lot.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer for underage drinking.    Closed.

121092    6:28 PM.    Possession of Alcohol by a Minor/Possession of Fictitious License or ID.    Main Quad/Fraternity Tents.    This is a late report which actually occurred on 10/18/2012 at 6:28 PM.    A student was cited and released for being underage and having alcohol in his possession and for having a fake ID.    Closed.

121098    4:24 PM.    Theft:    Business School.    A student reported the theft of their bike.    Open.

121099    4:32 PM.    Off Campus/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.    University Park.    Two students were cited and released for underage drinking by UPPD.  They were referred to the Student Conduct Officer.      Closed.


October 23

121102    4:49 PM.    Duty on Striking an Unattended Vehicle.  SMU Police Department/Patterson Hall.    A student reported another student left a note on his truck stating they witnessed another vehicle striking his bumper. The student said he checked bumper but saw no damage.    Closed.

121103    7:50 PM.    Criminal Mischief.    Simmons Lot.    A student reported someone damaged her passenger side mirror on her parked vehicle.    Open.

121104    8:14 PM.    Sexual Assault.    McElvaney Hall.    A student reported she was sexually assaulted last year around October 28, 2011 by another SMU student in a residence hall on campus.   This case is under investigation by the SMU Police Department.    Open.


October 24

121105    3:37 AM.    Theft.    Gamma Phi Beta House.    Six TCU students were cited and released for taking yard art from the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority House.   The incident was reported to the TCU Police Department.     Closed.

121107    3:56 PM.    Duty on Striking an Unattended Vehicle     Binkley Parking Garage.    A staff member reported someone backed into her vehicle causing damage and did not leave identifying information.    Open.


October 25

121109    12:37 AM.    Fire Alarm.    Peyton Hall.    Officers and UPFD responded to fire alarm activation at this location.  The cause was burnt popcorn in the microwave in the laundry room.  UPFD reset the alarm and gave the all clear.    Closed.

121110    1:59 AM.    Criminal Mischief.    McElvaney Hall/West Side Near Entrance.    A Giddy-up driver reported seeing a light pole and two concrete trashcans tipped over and broken on the sidewalk.  He saw two males and two females trying to put the light pole back in place but they ran away when they saw him.    Open.

121112    12:22 AM.    Possession of Marijuana:    Off Campus.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer possession of marijuana.    Closed.

121113    12:38 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Possession of fictitious License or ID:    Bishop Blvd.    Three students were referred to the Student Conduct Officer consumption of alcohol by a minor and one student of those students was referred for possession of a fictitious license.    Closed.

121114    1:33 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    Morrison-McGinnis Hall.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer, cited, and transported to the University Park Jail for consumption of alcohol by a minor.    Closed.

121115    4:53 AM.    Public Intoxication:    Theology Quad.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Officer, cited, and transported to the University Park Jail for public intoxication.    Closed.

1211117    4:06 PM.    Criminal Mischief:   Flag pole/Main Campus.    A staff member reported a combination lock was damaged.    Open.

121119    10:36 PM.    Fire Alarm:     Sigma Chi House/3100 Binkley Avenue.  UPFD responded to an active fire alarm.  It was determined it was accidentally activated.    Closed.

121120    2:19 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    McElvaney Hall/6000 Bishop Avenue.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for underage drinking.    Closed.

121121    2:58 AM.    Criminal Mischief:    Boaz Hall/3200 Binkley Avenue.    Public Safety Officer reported three damaged exit signs.    Open.

121122    6:13 AM.    Possession of Alcohol by a Minor/Possession of Fictitious License or ID:    Boaz Hall/3200 Binkley Avenue.  A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for underage drinking and for possessing a fake ID.    Closed.

Student caused damage to street sign and light pole.     Closed.
