JULY 1

No criminal incidents or fire alarms reported. 


JULY 2

100690    7:07 AM.    Fire Alarm:    DEA Offices/6200 N. Central Expressway.    SMU Fire Safety Officer reported an active alarm.  It was determined a smoke detector activated the fire alarm.  Fire Safety Officer reset the panel and the smoke detector reset.  The area was cleared with no further incident.    Closed.

100691    3:17 PM.    Fire Alarm:    Cockrell Hall/5905 Ownby Drive.    University Park Fire Department responded to an active full fire alarm.  It was determined burned Mac and cheese in the microwave was the cause of the fire alarm.  UPFD reset the fire panel and cleared with no further incident.    Closed.


JULY 3

100692    8:17 PM.    Fire Alarm:    McElvaney Hall/6000 Bishop Blvd.    A police officer responded to an active smoke detector in an unoccupied room.  The Officer checked the room and found no smoke or fire.  The Officer cleared with no further incident.      Closed.

JULY 5

100693    9:49 PM.    Fire Alarm:    Moody Coliseum/6024 Airline Rd.    A police officer responded to an active smoke detector in a storage room.  The fire panel had no signals of any alarms.  The storage room was checked with no signs of fire or smoke.  The officer cleared with no further incident.    Closed.


JULY 6

100696    3:32 PM.    Failure to Leave Identification:  Meadows Museum Parking Garage/5900 Bishop Blvd.   A visitor reported some unknown person struck his  unoccupied vehicle while parked in the parking garage.     No contact information was left at the scene.      Open.

100697    2:07 AM.    Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle/Possession of Alcohol by a Minor:    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for possessing alcohol in a motor vehicle and underage drinking.    Closed.

100699     9:36 AM.    Criminal Mischief:    Patterson Hall/SMU Police Department/3128 Dyer.    A criminal mischief case is being investigated concerning SMU Police owned property.    Open.

100701    2:35 AM.    Resisting Arrest, Search or Transportation/Evading Arrest or Detention:    Shuttles Hall/6212 Hillcrest Avenue.    A student was arrested and booked into University Park jail for resisting arrest and evading arrest or detention.    Closed.

100703    1:00 AM.    Arrested on Warrant:    Off Campus/75 Service Road/University Blvd.    A non affiliated person was arrested and booked into Dallas County jail for outstanding warrants.    Closed.

100704    2:21 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    Shuttles Hall/6212 Hillcrest Avenue.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for underage drinking.    Closed.

100705    2:36 AM.    Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor:    Shuttles Hall/6212 Hillcrest Avenue.    A student was referred to the Student Conduct Office for underage drinking.    Closed.

100711    5:09 AM.    Unlawful Possession of a Firearm/Possession of Controlled Substance/Driving While License Invalid:    Park Cities Plaza/Chase Bank/2900 Mockingbird.    A non affiliated person who is a convicted felon was arrested and booked into Dallas County jail for possessing a firearm, possessing controlled substance and driving while license suspended.    Closed.

100712    8:54 AM.    Fire Alarm:    Umphrey Lee Center/3300 Dyer Street.    UPFD responded to an active fire alarm.  It was determined the smoke detector on the third floor was not covered properly and dust set it off.  UPFD reset the fire panel and cleared with no further incident.    Closed.

100713    9:57 AM.    Fire Alarm:    Panhellenic House 2 /3100 Daniel Avenue.    UPFD responded to an active fire alarm.  It was determined it was caused by burnt food on the stove. It was put out with a fire extinguisher before UPFD arrived.  UPFD reset the fire panel and cleared with no further incident.    Closed.


JULY 15

100715    2:33 PM.    Fire Alarm:    Kappa Sigma House/3022 SMU Blvd.    UPFD was disregarded. It was determined the smoke detector set off the fire alarm due to dust from the abatement in the house.  The fire panel was reset and all cleared with no further incident.    Closed.

100718    5:45 AM.    Burglary of Building:    Umphrey Lee Center/3300 Dyer Street.    A contractor reported the construction area was broken into overnight.    Open.

100719    9:34 AM.    Fire Alarm.    SMU Service House.    Contractors damaged a smoke detector and the building went into alarm.    Closed.

100726    7:54 PM.    Theft.    Selecman Hall.    A student reported the theft of his bicycle.    Open.

100728    8:50 PM.    Theft.    Margo Jones Theater/Owens Art Center.    A student reported the theft of his cell phone.    Open.

100729    11:20 AM.    Theft.    Paul B. Loyd Jr. All Sports Center.    A student reported the theft of his bicycle.    Open

100730    1:00 PM.    Fire.    Moody Parking Garage.    An SMU owned vehicle caught fire in the garage.  UPPD arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.    Closed.

100731    6:53 PM.    Criminal Mischief:    Dedman 3 Parking Lot.    A visitor to campus reported her vehicle was keyed.    Open.

100732    2:37 AM.    Public Intoxication.    Expressway Tower Parking Lot.    A student was arrested and booked into the University Park Jail for being intoxicated in public.    Closed.

100736    6:52 PM.    Theft.    Paul B. Loyd Jr. All Sports Center.    A student reported the theft of her cell phone.    Open.


JULY 24

100737    12:41 AM.    Driving Under the Influence by a Minor:  3000 Binkley Avenue.      A non affiliated person was issued a University Park citation for driving under the influence by a minor.    Closed.

100738    1:14 AM.    Fire Alarm:    Maintenance House/3160 Daniel Avenue.    A police officer responded to an active fire alarm. Upon arrival there were no horns or strobes activated.  It was determined the fire alarm was malfunctioning.      Closed.

100744    9:57 AM.    Criminal Mischief:    Intramural Field/3000 SMU Blvd.    Some unknown person broke off the hinges to a generator door.      Open.

100750    1:42 AM.    Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Possession of Alcohol by a Minor/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Possession of Fictitious License or ID.    Shuttles Hall.    Three students were referred to the Student Conduct Officer for underage drinking, having alcohol and drug paraphernalia in their room and having a fake ID.    Closed.

100751    9:20 AM    Burglary.    Caruth Hall.    A staff member reported the theft of her computer.    Open.
