Crime log case numbers do not run sequentially. The SMU Police Department assigns a case number for all reportable activities, both criminal and non-criminal. Only case numbers generated for criminal activity are listed in the crime log.
Crimes are in chronological order. The most recent crimes are at the bottom of the list.

070481 3:47 PM: Illegal Use of Handicapped Placard: South Quad Lot. A student was cited and referred to the Judicial Officer for illegally parking in a handicapped space. Closed.
070482 5:17 PM: Disorderly Conduct: Peyton Hall. Two students will be referred to the Judicial Officer for using offensive language. Closed.

070487 6:14 PM: Reckless Driving: Theology Parking Lot. A staff member reported a vehicle driving recklessly in the lot. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, but were unsuccessful. Open.

070488 12:35 PM: Burglary of Vehicle/Evading Arrest or Detention: 3000 SMU Boulevard. A student's vehicle was burglarized. An Ipod and docking station were stolen. Open.

070499 2:34 AM: Criminal Trespass: Cockrell Hall. A non-affiliated man was arrested and transported to UP Jail. Closed.
070500 12:27 PM: Burglary of Vehicle: Moody Parking Garage. A student's vehicle was burglarized and a radar detector was stolen. The offense occurred between May 3, 2007 at 5:00 PM and May 6, 2007 at 12:10 PM. Open.
070501 12:49 PM: Assault: Storey Hall Parking Lot. A student was assaulted by her boyfriend, who is also a student. Open.
070502 7:25 PM: Theft - SJF (1500-19999): Owens Art Center. A canvas bag and an LCD projector were stolen from an unsecured room. The offense occurred between May 4, 2007 at 11:50 PM and May 6, 2007 at 6:36 PM. Open.

070504 12:10 PM: Theft - SJF ($1500-19999): Heroy Science Building. A staff member's wallet and cell phone were stolen from her unsecured office. The offense occurred between 11:30AM and 12:00PM. Open.
070506 2:27 PM: Theft - Class B ($50-200): Maguire Building. A student's book bag was stolen from an unsecured room. Open.

070507 4:11 AM: Reckless Damage: Peyton Hall. Officers and UPFD responded to a trash can fire in one of the rooms. Investigation determined a non-affiliated visitor was smoking in the room and threw a cigarette butt in the trash can causing the fire. The man was cited by the UP Fire Marshall. Closed.
070508 8:05 AM: Theft - Class A ($500-1500): Meadows Museum Parking Garage. A non-affiliated man reported his bag containing rare coins was stolen. The offense occurred on May 7, 2007. Open.
070510 1:33 PM: Possession of Fictitious License or ID: Patterson Hall. A student was found in possession of two counterfeit IDs. Judicial Referral.
070511 6:12 PM: Theft - Class A ($500-1500): McElvaney Hall. A student's computer was stolen from her unsecured room. Open.
070512 10:51 PM: Possession of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Hawk Hall. Three students will be referred to the Judicial Officer. Closed.

070514 2:49 PM: Theft - Class B ($50-200): Binkley Apartments. A student's secured bicycle was stolen. The offense occurred sometime between November 29-May 9. Open.
070516 6:03 PM: Theft - Class B ($50-200): Dedman 3 Parking Lot. A student's bicycle was stolen. The offense occurred sometime between May 4 and May 9. Open.
070517 6:53 PM: Burglary of Habitation: Smith Hall. A student's computer was stolen from his unsecured room. Time of offense was between 6:23 PM and 6:50 PM. Open.
070518 7:10 PM: Burglary of Habitation: Virginia Hall. A student's laptop computer and Ipod were stolen from his secured room. The offense occurred between 5:40 PM and 7:00 PM. Open.
070519 10:30 PM: Theft - Class B ($50-200): Morrison-McGinnis Hall. A student's unattended laptop computer was stolen from the lobby. Open.

070524 7:58 AM: Disorderly Conduct: 6405 Airline Road. A student was arrested and transported to UP Jail for using profane and vulgar language in a public place. Closed.

070527 12:46 AM: Possession of Marijuana/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Possession of Fictitious License or ID: 3300 Dyer Street. One student was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was also cited for having a counterfeit ID. Another student will be referred to the Judicial Officer for underage drinking and for violating the student code of conduct. Closed.
