      March 1

      010345 12:13 AM: An officer on patrol near the Tri -Delt house heard an alarm and investigated. The house intrusion alarm had activated and would not reset. The Tri-Delt house mom contacted the alarm company who silenced the system remotely. Closed.

      010346 2:42 AM: Police received a message from an anonymous caller who told them a fight was about to break out behind the PIKE house. Officers arrived and saw two groups of men in the alley behind the house. Most of them dispersed when officers approached. It appears the altercation was between the FIJI members and the PIKE members. Referred to the judicial officer. Closed.

      010347 3:05 AM: Officers and EMS were called to Cockrell Hall after a student suffered an apparent seizure, fell from his bed and was laying unconscious on the floor. EMS transported the student to Presbyterian Hospital. He told paramedics he was not sure if he had taken his medication. Closed.

      010348 4:53 AM: Officers responded to the Business School after a fire alarm was received. The alarm appears to be coming from Maguire Room 252, however, the panel shows the alarm to be originating from Fincher Room 230. The alarm is really an intrusion alarm. The building manager will be notified. Closed.

      010349 7:49 AM: Officers responded to the FIJI house after a fire alarm was received. Officers entered room 116 and found steam coming from the bathroom. They also observed evidence the occupant had been smoking earlier. The RLSH representative was notified and responded. Closed.

      010350 9:43 AM: A staff member reported someone entered his unsecured office and stole his checkbook. Two checks have been cashed at a bank nearby. Open.

      010351 1:48 AM: Officers responded to Ford Stadium after a fire alarm was received. The alarm was originating from the lower level mechanical room. The alarm was false. Fire Safety and the Athletic Facility Manager were notified. Closed.

      010352 2:51 AM: Officers responded to a disturbance call at the Sig Ep house. A non-affiliated man was standing out front shouting obscenities at some of the members. The man had been an invited guest however, he became intoxicated and belligerent. When asked to leave the house, he refused. The man was arrested and booked into the U.P. jail. Closed.

      010353 4:18 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Phi Delta Theta house. The responding officer found the fire alarm horns and strobe lights activated. The panel indicated trouble on the second floor, but no cause for the trouble signal or horn activation was found. Closed.

      010354 11:02 AM: A student reported someone entered his vehicle while it was parked in the Moody Garage. The person who entered the vehicle left some property behind. It was determined that another student was going to borrow a friend's vehicle and thought the complainant's vehicle was her friend's. The keyless remote unlocked the doors, but the key would not start the vehicle. She left her property in the complainant's vehicle to go get help and when she returned, the complainant had already taken his car. Closed.

      010355 4:17 PM: Two non-affiliated juveniles were found skateboarding in the area of the Hughes Trigg Student Center. One subject was stopped and identified and the other fled the area. The subject, who stopped, was told about the policy prohibiting him from riding his skateboard on SMU property. His father was contacted and responded to take him home. Closed.

      010356 8:31 PM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house. The panel was beeping, but indicated normal mode. No cause for the trouble signal was found. Closed.

      010357 9:38 PM: The intrusion alarm at the Meadows Museum sounded. A loose fitting door was found secured, but moved enough in the door jamb to activate the alarm. Closed.

      010358 10:34 PM: A non-affiliated person reported he was assaulted as he left the high school basketball game at Moody Coliseum. UPFD EMS responded and the person refused medical treatment. The person did not know any of the subjects who assaulted him. Open.

      March 3

      010359 2:09 AM: A student reported a suspicious vehicle following her in the area of Bishop Blvd. The complainant stated the vehicle followed her onto campus from Central Expressway. The officer observed the vehicle on Bishop Blvd., but it left campus at a high rate of speed when the officer was observed. The vehicle was not observed on campus again. Closed.

      100360 2:06 AM: SMU Police responded to a loud party complaint at 2901 Binkley Ave. The resident was contacted in reference to the noise complaint. An intoxicated student was also observed in possession of alcohol. The student is under 21 years old. The music was turned down and the intoxicated student was released to the resident of the apartment. Referred to the Judicial Officer for action. Closed.

      010361 2:17 AM: Two students were observed in the intersection of Binkley Avenue and Ownby Drive. One student was found to be extremely intoxicated and the other student had been drinking alcohol but did not appear to be drunk. The intoxicated student agreed to spend the night with a friend in Boaz Hall. Referred to the Judicial Officer for action. Closed.

      010362 2:38 AM: Two students were observed attempting to take a stop sign out of the ground at the entrance to Dedman 1 parking lot. Both students had been drinking alcohol and were under 21 years of age. The student left the area and agreed to stay in their room for the night. Referred to the Judicial Officer for Review. Closed.

      010363 2:41 AM: An intoxicated student was found sitting in a vehicle that was blocking the fire drive in the West Quad Lot. A friend came out of Peyton Hall and took responsibility for the intoxicated student. Referred to the Judicial Officer for action. Closed.

      010364 3:18 AM: The fire alarm sounded at Ford Stadium again. The panel indicated a smoke detector in the lower level mechanical room again. No smoke was found. Closed.

      010365 3:22 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Phi Gamma Delta house. The panel indicated trouble with a smoke detector on the second floor. No cause for the alarm was found. Closed.

      010366 4:46 AM: SMU Police responded to a loud music complaint at 2921 Binkley Ave. The resident was contacted and agreed to lower the music and noise. Closed.

      010367 6:22 AM: A student reported someone struck her vehicle while it was parked in the Moody Garage. The driver of the other vehicle failed to leave the required information. Another person witnessed the incident and obtained the license plate number of the suspect vehicle. The license plate belongs to another student. The other student was left a message to contact the police. Open.

      010368 9:22 AM: During the daily immobilization boot inventory, it was discovered a student had removed and stolen a boot from his vehicle which was parked in the Meadows Museum Parking Garage. Investigation pending Open.

      010369 5:05 PM: A student reported his vehicle missing from the Moody Parking Garage. The vehicle was later located in the South Quad lot. Closed.

      010370 5:12 PM: The fire alarm at the Pi Beta Phi house sounded. Students using a steam iron under the second floor smoke detector activated the alarm. Closed.

      010372 2:46 AM: SMU Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the courtyard of the Kappa Sigma house. A student stated he was shouting at the group of people in the courtyard in an attempt to get the people inside the house. Closed.

      010373 2:57 AM: SMU Police found numerous people in the back yard of the Beta Theta Pi house. Officers identified several students with cups of beer walking around the common areas of the house and outside. The house president was located, the alcohol was poured out, and the people went inside the house. The house was cited for an alcohol violation. Closed.

      010374 4:41 AM: A resident of the Lambda Chi Alpha house reported that someone threw two billiard balls through the bay window on the north side of their fraternity house. The reporting person said he saw two subjects run into the Sigma Chi house right after the glass was broken. Open.

      010375 4:55 AM: The fire alarm sounded at Ford Stadium.. The smoke detector in the lower mechanical room was activated. This alarm is activated every day and corrective measures, thus far, have failed to fix the problem. Closed.

      010376 8:07 AM: The front license plate was discovered missing from a SMU owned vehicle at 3100 Dyer Street. It is unknown if the license plate was stolen or fell off. Closed.

      010377 11:01 AM: A water leak was discovered on the South side of Fondren Science. Most of the water was running out to the street, but some minor flooding was discovered in the basement area of the building. Physical Plant was notified and responded to fix the leak. Closed.

      010378 1:00 PM: A Faculty member reported the theft of two paintings outside his office on the second floor of Carr-Collins. The paintings were taken from a common sitting area outside his office. Open.

      010379 3:45 PM: A resident of the Sigma Phi Epsilon reported someone spray painted graffiti on the eastside of the fraternity house sometime during the night. Open.

      010380 7:05 PM: SMU Police reported the lights were not functioning in the Heroy parking lot. No reason for the malfunction was found. Closed.

      March 5

      010381 3:12 AM: The fire alarm sounded at Ford Stadium. The panel indicated the lower level mechanical room. No cause for this alarm was found. This alarm sounds every night for an unknown reason. Closed.

      010382 5:06 AM: A suspicious person was reported on the second floor balcony at the Delta Gamma house. Officers found a resident of the house was outside taking photographs. Closed.

      010383 7:52 AM: A staff member reported someone spray painted a computer screen and a clock in the Maguire Building. The paint was the same color as the walls of the classroom. Open.

      010384 9:20 AM: Report of a sick student at the Health Center. UPFD EMS responded and transported the student to Parkland Hospital for treatment. Closed.

      010385 12:22 PM: A student reported someone broke into his vehicle, while it was parked in the 2900 block of SMU Blvd. The student's stereo was taken from the vehicle. Open.

      010386 2:35 PM: A student injured his back while lifting weights in the All Sports Center. UPFD EMS responded and transported the student to Baylor Hospital for treatment. Closed.

      010387 3:36 PM: A student reported someone broke into his vehicle, while it was parked in the Dedman 3 parking lot. The student's stereo, speakers, and a cowboy hat were stolen. Open.

      010388 5:23 PM: A trouble signal was received from the fire panel at McElvaney Hall. The panel indicated trouble in numerous areas. Some power outage was also discovered in the stairwells and entrances. Physical Plant was contacted about the power outage. Closed.

      010389 4:34 PM: A student reported someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked behind the Phi Gamma Delta house. The rear window of the student's vehicle was shattered. Open.

      010390 6:06 PM: A faculty member reported someone broke into his locker in the men's dressing room at Dedman Center. The faculty member's watch and wallet were taken. No forced entry was evident and the lock was intact. Open.

      010391 7:17 PM: Report of a sick student at the Alpha Chi Omega house. UPFD EMS responded and transported the student to Presbyterian Hospital. Closed.

      010392 8:32 PM: A suspicious person was reported in the area of 5800 Bishop Blvd. A student said a W/M in his mid thirties, driving a teal colored Geo type vehicle, stopped and tried to talk her into getting into his vehicle and go for a cup of coffee. The suspicious subject left the area when the student walked away. Open.

      010393 9:16 PM: The Hall Director at Smith Hall reported a student skateboarding down the handrails in front of Perkins Chapel. The student was identified and denied riding down the handrails. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      010394 10:19 PM: The intrusion alarm was activated on the first floor of Perkins Administration building. A TIDY employee failed to enter the entry code before cleaning the office and accidentally activated the alarm. Closed.

      010395 10:30 PM: The fire alarm sounded at the Phi Delta Theta house. The panel indicated a third floor smoke detector had been activated. A room on the third floor was discovered full of cigarette smoke. UPFD noted numerous cigarette butts and matches in the area. UPFD report will be made with the UP Fire Marshal. Referred to the Judicial Officer and Housing for review. Closed.

      010396 12:47 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at Meadows Museum. No cause for the signal was found. Closed.

      010397 7:09 AM: A fire drill was conducted at the Delta Sigma Theta house. Closed.

      010398 7:21 AM: A fire drill was conducted at the Alpha Kappa Alpha house. Closed.

      010399 9:34 AM: A student reported someone broke the rear window of his vehicle and took a five-dollar bill from inside. Open.

      010400 1:46 PM: A housing staff member, conducting a fire safety inspection, found a blowgun in one of the rooms at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house. The blowgun was released to an officer. The blowgun violates SMU regulations prohibiting weapons on campus. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      010401 2:17 PM: Solicitors were reported at Hughes Trigg Student Center. Three subjects were identified and advised of the policy for soliciting on campus. The subjects left campus without further incident. Closed.

      010402 7:05 PM: A fire alarm was received at the Kappa Alpha Theta house. The housemother called the police department and said she had an electrician working on the electricity in the house and a power outage caused the alarm. Closed.

      010403 9:34 PM: A student reported the theft of a calculator at Fondren Library. The student left the calculator unattended on a table for over an hour and found it missing upon her return. Open.

      March 7

      010404 2:18 AM: SMU Police received a report of a fight in the alley behind the Pi Kappa Alpha house. An officer was in the area already and observed no one in the alley. Closed.

      010405 2:07 AM: A non-affiliated man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 5800 block of Bishop Blvd. A license check revealed he had four outstanding traffic warrants. The warrants were served and the man was booked into UP Jail. Closed.

      010406 10:46 AM: Two students were stuck in the elevator at Mary Hay Hall. The elevator technician arrived and released the students without injury. Closed.

      010407 3:24 PM: A Housing staff member, conducting a fire inspection at the Phi Delta Theta house, found two arrows in a room. The arrows were turned over to the officer for safekeeping. Closed.

      010408 8:10 PM: A student reported the South entrance to Moore Hall was damaged. Someone pulled the doorplate off and damaged the wiring for the electronic controls. The Hall Director called for maintenance on the door. Open.

      010409 9:36 PM: A crime prevention meeting was held at Cockrell Hall. Closed.

      010410 10:45 PM: Report of a sick student at the Delta Gamma house. UPFD EMS responded, but the student refused transport to the hospital. Closed.

      010411 11:40 PM: A student reported the theft of her cellular phone from Hughes Trigg Student Center. The phone was taken from the student's purse. Open.

      March 8

      010412 1:29 AM: An officer observed a student standing next to his car and vomiting. The officer approached to check on the man. The man admitted he had been drinking, then he turned and attempted to run from the officer. He ran about ten feet but was unable to maintain his balance, so he laid down on the ground. He was cited for Minor Consumption of Alcohol and released to a friend who came to take him to his room. Closed.

      010413 8:02 AM: The fire alarm activated at Collins Hall. UPFD responded. Catering staff were preparing a breakfast for the Dean of the Law School and the hotplates they were using were located under a heat sensor. They were advised the hotplates could not be used in the building. Closed.

      010414 12:59 PM: A student reported his truck was burglarized while it was parked in the 2900 block of SMU Blvd. The radio had been tampered with, but not removed. Open.

      010415 1:45 PM: The SAE frat reported someone stole a framed "chapter" flag from their house. The exact time of the theft is unknown. Closed.

      March 9

      010416 12:39 AM: Officers investigated a fire alarm trouble signal at Umphrey Lee. No cause was determined. Fire Safety was notified. Closed.

      010417 12:42 AM: An officer observed a Toyota 4 Runner being operated without headlights in the Dedman 3 Lot. The officer conducted a traffic stop and upon approaching the truck, saw the passenger attempt to conceal a can of beer. He also saw an opened eighteen pack of beer behind the driver's seat. Both occupants are 17 years old and are high school students. A citation was issued for Minor in Possession. The alcohol was poured out at the scene. Closed.

      010418 2:59 AM: A student reported she had been fondled by a man at an off campus party. She was advised that she would have to file the complaint with the Dallas PD since the incident occurred in Dallas. Closed.

      010419 8:44 AM: UPPD requested assistance with a follow-up investigation of several incidents involving a SMU student running over stop signs. A student was identified and issued a citation by UPPD. Referred to City Court and the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      010420 9:52 AM: The fire alarm at Moody Coliseum was activated. UPFD responded and found the alarm was due to a system malfunction. Closed.

      010421 10:26 AM: A student was reported stuck in the elevator at Shuttles Hall. The repair technician responded and released the student without injury. Closed.

      010422 12:13 PM: The fire alarm sounded at the Hamon Arts Library. As this alarm was received, the fire alarms at the Health Center and Morrison/McGinnis Hall also indicated activation. The activation of these alarms was traced to technicians working in the telephone room at Patterson Hall. Closed.

      010423 3:28 PM: A fire drill was conducted at the Health Center. Closed.

      010424 11:26 PM: The custodians working at Dedman Center reported several subjects still inside the building. The subjects were located and did have permission to be in the building. Closed.

      March 10

      010425 4:26 AM: SMU Police made a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Fondren. The officer observed an open liter of vodka behind the driver's seat. The driver and two passengers were identified as students and under 21 years of age. The three students were later released at the FIJI house. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review.

      010426 8:04 AM: Four students were reported stuck in the elevator at Virginia Hall. The doors were opened and the students released without injury. Closed.

      010427 6:32 PM: A student was seen forcing open the gate arm on the Eastside of the Owens Lot. The student was stopped in front of Smith Hall and said she raised the gate arm so her guests would not have to walk to her residence hall. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      March 11

      010428 12:34 AM: SMU Police reported loud music from an apartment located at 2956 Binkley. The resident was contacted and turned the music down. Closed.

      010429 3:18 AM: The fire alarm sounded at the Kappa Sigma house. The panel indicated a second floor, room smoke detector was activated. Officers responded to the room and found the room to have a smoky haze and the smell of burning marijuana. The house president and the occupant of the room discussed the issue of the fire alarm and the smell. This incident will be forwarded to the Judicial Officer for Review. Closed.

      010430 2:04 AM: SMU Police received a loud noise complaint from the area of the Kappa Sigma House. Several house members were located playing dodge ball in the courtyard. The members were advised of the complaint and went inside. Closed.

      010432 12:15 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Alpha Kappa Alpha house. The panel was found in normal mode, but then went back into trouble mode and displayed a message to indicate trouble with the phone line. Another signal for the problem was received at 4:18 AM. Closed.

      010433 6:37 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Phi Delta Theta house. The panel indicated trouble on the second floor. No cause for the trouble signal was found. Closed.

      010434 11:58 AM: A student reported her vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the parking area of 6200 Frat Row. Someone scratched the hood of her car and made several gouge marks on the bumper area. Open.

      010436 1:06 PM: A staff member reported the theft of a check from 6119 Airline. Open.

      010437 2:39 PM: A staff member reported his cellular phone stolen from his office in Owens Fine Arts Center. Open.

      010438 3:18 AM: A minor traffic accident was reported in the parking lot in front of Patterson Hall. No injuries were reported. Closed.

      010441 10:20 PM: A student worker reported her payroll check missing from Hughes Trigg Student Center. Open.

      010439 12:00 AM: An intrusion alarm was received from Meadows Museum. The building was checked secure and no cause for the alarm was found. Closed.

      010440 12:53 AM: A student was found stuck in the elevator at Snider Hall. The doors opened about five minutes later and the student was released unharmed. Closed.

      010442 5:07 PM: A staff member at Moody Coliseum reported three phones missing from the Letterman Room. Open.

      010443 7:14 PM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at McElvaney Hall. No cause for the alarm was found. Closed.

      March 14

      010444 11:08 AM: Construction workers reported the theft of a forklift attachment that fits on their front-end loader. The attachment was taken during the lunch break of the work crew. Open.

      010445 9:56 AM: The fire alarm panel was reported making a beeping noise at Carr-Collins Hall. No trouble signal was received at the police department. The panel was found making a tonal sound, but no message was displayed. The panel would not stay silenced or reset. Floyd Phelps was contacted. Closed.

      March 15

      010446 1:45 PM: A student reported his cellular phone taken from his room last week. He said he provided the thief a week to return the phone, but decided to make a report when the phone did not reappear. Open.

      010447 2:24 PM: A smoke detector in a second floor room of the Alpha Kappa Alpha house was reported activating every ten minutes. No signal was received and the panel did not display any messages. Housing and Fire Safety were contacted for repair. Closed.

      010448 2:05 PM: A staff member at the Maguire Building reported the theft of an overhead projector from room 356. The projector was removed from the ceiling mount sometime during the past two days. Open.

      010449 5:23 PM: A SMU staff member was involved in a minor accident, off campus, while in a SMU owned vehicle. No damage was sustained by the SMU owned vehicle. No injuries were reported. Closed.

      010450 5:28 PM: A student reported the passenger side window of her vehicle was broken while it was parked in front of 3030 Daniel. Nothing was missing from the vehicle. Open.

      010451 5:14 PM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Alpha Chi Omega house. The fire panel is located in the housemother's room and could not be accessed. A message was left for the housemother to check the alarm system. Closed.

      March 16

      010452 3:42 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house. The panel was emitting a constant tone, but no messages were displayed. No cause for the signal was found. Closed.

      010453 6:32 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at Fondren Library. The signal received in dispatch indicated trouble with Basement E - AHU #2 Duct. The panel was found in normal mode with no messages displayed. No cause for the signal was found. Closed.

      010454 10:49 AM: A student reported his vehicle damaged while it was parked in the South Quad Lot. Someone cut the plastic side window of his Jeep and unlocked the door. Nothing was missing from the vehicle. Open.

      010455 4:48 AM: A non-affiliated person reported her child locked himself in a vehicle while she was putting money in the parking meter in the 3300 block of Dyer Street. Officers responded and unlocked the vehicle. Closed.

      March 17

      010456 2:34 PM: A student was stopped for a traffic violation in the West Quad Lot. She was identified as less than 21 years old and had been drinking alcohol. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review.

      010457 6:52 AM: A student reported a possible theft that occurred at her off-campus bank. The student was instructed to contact her bank as soon as possible and make a report with the police department that has jurisdiction at the location of the actual theft. Closed.

      010458 4:22 PM: A student was reported stuck in the elevator at Morrison Hall. The door opened when the officer arrived and the student was freed without injury. Closed.

      010459 5:48 PM: A student, who resides in the Sigma Chi house, reported someone entered his room during spring break and took an amplifier. No other property was missing. Open.

      010460 9:15 PM: A non-affiliated person was stopped in the 5900 block of Bishop Blvd for a traffic violation. The person had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were executed and the person was booked into the UP Jail without incident. Closed.

      March 18

      010461 12:22 AM: SMU Police found three windowpanes damaged on the South door of Engineering Lab 2. It appeared that a pellet or BB gun was used to damage the glass. Open.

      010462 9:10 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm in the Athletic Transition Building. The panel was found in trouble mode, but displayed no location on the readout. No cause for the trouble signal was found. Closed.

      March 19

      010463 4:11 PM: SMU Police stopped a vehicle for reckless driving in the 3100 block of Binkley Avenue. The driver was identified as a student. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      010464 5:35 PM: A student reported her vehicle was damaged and the stereo was taken while it was parked in the Dedman 3 lot. The driver's side window was shattered and the stereo was missing from the console. Open.

      March 20

      010465 1:12 AM: A trouble signal was received from the fire alarm at McElvaney Hall. Both panels displayed a message indicating a power failure on the third floor. The Residence Hall Security Officer said the lights flickered just before the trouble signal was received. No cause for the power interruption was found. Closed.

      010467 10:24 AM: A student reported her vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the 6200 block of Frat Row. The vehicle paint was scratched on the both sides. Open.

      010468 12:21 PM: Two students were involved in a minor traffic collision in the Umphrey Lee Parking Lot 2. No injuries were sustained and the drivers exchanged information. Closed.

      010469 1:48 PM: A trashcan was reported on fire on the East side of Snider Hall. SMU Police extinguished the fire before UPFD responded. No cause for the fire has been determined at this time. Open.

      010470 2:11 PM: Two students were involved in a minor traffic collision in the Frat Row parking area. No injuries were sustained and the drivers exchanged information. Closed.

      010471 3:51 PM: The fire alarm at the Kappa Sigma house was activated. The kitchen smoke detector was activated by food preparation. The kitchen was ventilated and the alarm reset. Closed.

      010472 6:56 PM: A staff member at Hughes Trigg Student Center reported several people were in the Library Center drinking alcohol. Five students were identified, all over 21 years of age. Referred to the Judicial Officer for action. Closed.

      March 21

      010473 12:46 AM: The fire alarm activated in Smith Hall. The cause was attributed to a resident cooking in the second floor west side kitchen. Fire Safety was notified.

      010474 1:56 AM: A student reported someone had hacked into his on line bank account and had stolen money from his account. An investigation has been initiated. Open.

      010475 2:53 AM: Officers responded to a duress alarm at the Delta Gamma House. No cause was found. closed.

      010476 3:46 AM: An officer found where someone had struck a street light on Bishop Blvd using their vehicle. Closed.

      010480 12:05 AM: Officers found a student in the Underwood Law Library after hours. He had been locked in after it closed. He related he did not notice the time. Closed.

      010481 2:20 AM: An officer was on Bishop Blvd putting up barricades when an approaching vehicle swerved toward him. The driver blew his horn, passed the officer, then accelerated while traveling north on Bishop Blvd. A patrol unit nearby heard the officer's call over the radio and stopped the vehicle. The driver told the officer he did not intentionally swerve toward the officer and stated he blew his horn to let the officer know he had lost control of his car. Officers detected the odor of alcohol however, could not determine if the suspect had been drinking. He was released. Closed

The caller thought a student was choking, but then called to cancel because it was determined the student just had the wind knocked out of him while wrestling.       010529 9:16 AM: A staff member reported a suspicious person in the area of Owens Fine Arts Center. A non-affiliated man was located and identified. The subject had been issued a Criminal Trespass Warning previously. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass and booked in to the UP City Jail.       010530 11:00 AM: The fire alarm sounded at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house. Food preparation caused a kitchen smoke alarm to activate again.       010538 9:36 PM: A non-affiliated person entered the Patterson Parking Lot through the Exit and ran over the treadles. The treadles punctured two tires on the person's vehicle. The signs warning of the treadles were in place. Closed.

      010539 10:54 PM: A student reported her vehicle was stolen from the staff parking area located at 6425 Airline Road. The student said she left the vehicle unlocked, but gave no one permission to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the TCIC/NCIC system as stolen. Open.

      010540 11:53 PM: SMU Police received a false 911 call from the elevator at Peyton Hall. The caller was male and was attempting to disguise his voice as a female. The caller indicated he/she was stuck in the elevator. The caller ran from the area when the Dispatcher stated an officer was already in the building. No one was found stuck in the elevator. Open.

      010541 11:32 PM: A faculty member reported a vehicle burglary in the Patterson Parking Lot. The driver side window of the faculty member's vehicle was found broken out. Two pairs of sunglasses and some shirts were taken. Open.

      010543 11:15 PM: A loud noise was reported in the area of the Owens Fine Arts Center. The complaint came from the Ramada Inn at 6004 Hillcrest. Officers observed several students leaving the Arts Center with musical instruments. Closed.

      010542 2:00 AM: The fire alarm at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house sounded. A student was identified as setting off a fire extinguisher, which in turn activated a smoke detector in the house. Three other students were identified when they failed to evacuate during the alarm. Referred to the Judicial Officer for review.

      010551 12:27 AM: A student reported loud music coming from a room in Moore Hall. The student residing in the room failed to respond to the officer's knocking. The Community Assistant was contacted and said she would make entry into the room and turn off the music. Closed.

      010552 10:23 AM: A student reported a domestic dispute with her estranged husband at Moore Hall. The husband left before the officers arrived. The student indicated she did not want the suspect on campus or around her. He was later located and issued a Criminal Trespass Warning. Closed.

      010554 9:34 PM: A staff member reported an intoxicated student at McFarlin Auditorium. The student was found sitting in the back row and had vomited on himself. He was issued a citation for Public Intoxication and released to a sober adult. Referred to City Court and the Judicial Officer for review. Closed.

      010553 3:43 AM: A student attempted to go in the Patterson Lot through the exit side and damaged a tire on his vehicle when he ran over the treadles. Closed.

      010555 4:36 AM: SMU Police found an intoxicated student breaking bottles in the courtyard of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house. A sober adult took custody of the intoxicated student. Referred to the Judicial Officer for Minor Consumption of Alcohol. Closed.

      010556 11:10 AM: A man was found laying on the front lawn of the Beta house. He was intoxicated. The man is a former student and house member who has had numerous alcohol related offenses. He was issued a criminal trespass warning and was arrested last year for trespassing on the campus. Due to an error, his past criminal information and criminal trespass warnings were not available to officers. No action was taken at the time and he was released to a house member. A subsequent check revealed the man's criminal history. A warrant will be issued for his arrest. The house will be referred to the judicial officer. Open.

      010557 7:27 PM: A Shuttles Hall RA responded to a third floor room for a report of the smell of marijuana. A student, who did not live in Shuttles Hall, was found in the room and admitted to possession of marijuana. The student also indicated he had other drugs in his room.
