Expressway Tower Building Parking Lot

Parking at Expressway Tower site is managed by SMU Real Estate Office.   A limited number of sheltered and garage parking spaces are available for purchase at Expressway Tower at a premium rate.  SMU employees who are interested in purchasing sheltered or garage parking space should contact the SMU Real Estate Office directly at 214-768-7000.  SMU employees can purchase parking at Expressway Tower through payroll withholdings on a pre-tax basis.  SMU parking permits are not honored at Expressway Tower.    

SMU Employee and Visitor Parking at Expressway Tower 

SMU Employee Parking at Expressway Tower is located at the site of the former UA Cinema adjacent to the Expressway Tower site and is managed by the SMU Parking and ID Card Services Office.  The lot is designate as an “All University Permit” (AUP location) and valid SMU parking permits or Expressway Tower permits are required.  While visiting the Expressway Tower, SMU employees who have an SMU permit must also park at the “AUP” parking lot at the UA Cine site.   SMU Employees at Expressway Tower who purchase an SMU parking permit may park in the UA Cine lot as wells as in any “AUP” parking locations on the main campus, which includes the Airline, Moody and Meadows garages and the Dedman lot. 

Getting between the East and Main Campus

The Mustang Express now provides a convenient direct route between Expressway Tower and the center of the main campus on Bishop Blvd. and Mockingbird Station.  The Mustang Express is available without charge to the public and operates Monday through Friday from 7AM to 10PM, year round. 

Parking Meters

Parking meters have been installed along the entrance to the old UA cinema parking.  Meters are for visitor parking and are enforced Monday through Thursday 7 am - 7 pm and 7am - 5 pm on Friday. 

  • Metered spaces allow a maximum 3 hour parking.
  • If parking requires more than 3 hours, coins must be inserted to add time.
  • Meters allow a maximum three (3) hour parking at .25 cents for every fifteen (15) minutes.
  • Meters are not enforced on weekends.
