Need to Reserve Giddy-up Service for an event or for VIPs?:

Giddy-up service may be reserved at an hourly rate:

  • $35.00 per hour per car (multiple cars subject to availability)
  • Four (4) hour minimum reservation
  • Each car seats up to six people maximum (including driver)

SMU Police Department Courtesy Ride Service

The police department provides a courtesy ride service to anyone on SMU campus.  To obtain a courtesy ride, call 214-768-3388 day or night.  Evening rides are provided by the Giddy-up however, the SMU police are available when the Giddy-up drivers are not.  The courtesy ride is restricted to SMU main campus only.

SMU Officers will respond to requests when they are not working higher priority police related matters.  Police officers do not  offer taxi service and cannot be summoned as a ride to classes or work during bad weather days.  If there is a legitimate security concern, injury, or illness, contact the communications officer immediately to expedite the request.  Priority police activity may delay some escort response times. As long as your safety is not immediately threatened, stay there and wait for the courtesy ride to arrive.  The wait may be longer than normal during peak hours, however you will be picked up within a reasonable time.
