Searching for Classes

In this topic, the Schedule of Classes may be searched for classes offered in a given term.

This is the exact same class search method that students and guests use, however they will navigate to it via a different path.

Steps:

  1. Click the Curriculum Management link.   Step 1
  2. Click the Schedule of Classes link.   Step 2
  3. Click the Class Search link.   Step 3
  4. Click the Term drop-down menu.   Step 4
  5. Select the desired term from the list.

    For example, select Fall 2007.   Step 5
  6. Click the Go button.   Step 6
  7. Class Search Hints
    • Remember to click off the "Open Only" checkbox if you truly want to see all classes, including those classes that are closed.
    To see all classes for a department for an entire term, only enter the subject and in the Campus field, select "Main."
    • To see all Undergraduate classes for a department for an entire term, enter the subject and in the Academic Career field, select "Undergraduate."
    • To see all Graduate classes for Meadows, Engineering, and Dedman college departments for an entire term, only enter the subject and in the Academic Career field, select "Graduate."
    • To see all classes for the Law School for an entire term, only enter the subject “Law” and in the Academic Career field, select "Law."
    • To see all Graduate classes for the Business School for an entire term, only enter the subject and in the Academic Career field, select "Graduate Cox Sch of Business."
    • To see all Graduate classes for the Theology School for an entire term, only enter the subject and in the Academic Career field, select "Theology."
    • For terms that have sessions (e.g., Summer has Summer I, II, III, & IV), you can narrow search criteria by entering the subject and in the Session field, select the appropriate session.
     
    Try different searches to get to the results that suit your needs.

  8. Click the Course Subject drop-down menu.   Step 8
  9. Select a Course Subject from the list.

    For example, select BIOL-Biological Sciences.   Step 9
  10. Click the scrollbar.   Step 10
  11. Click the Search button.   Step 11
  12. If there are more than 50 course offerings, you will receive this message.

    Click the OK button.   Step 12
  13. Click the scrollbar to view your results.   Step 13
  14. Click the Class Section  link (001, 002, etc.) to view the class details for that section.   Step 14
  15. After you are finished review the details, click the Return to Results button.   Step 15
  16. Click the Start a New Search button to return to the search screen.   Step 16

You have now successfully searched for a class in a given term.
