Mustang 11

Spirit and TraditionsThis group of 11 students selected from the incoming class works to promote SMU Spirit and Traditions through a variety of programming.  Mustang 11 was named in honor of the University's founding in 1911 and has been a prestigious organization instrumental in upholding school pride.

The Mustang 11 are responsible for organizing and operating a tent on the Boulevard during home football game tailgating, planning and implementing pep rallies for sporting events, creating and selling a class t-shirt in collaboration with The Union, and other activities in conjunction with Athletics.  Members receive an upperclassman mentor who is also in Mustang 11, serving as a connection to other leadership roles on campus.

Boulevard Tents

Join the Mustang 11 and Union members every home game on the boulevard. Look for our tent near the flagpole, and wear your red and blue! We will have games, paint, food, and much more to get prepared for the SMU football games.

Homecoming

Homecoming is a traditional University event where alumni from all over the globe and current students unite on campus to celebrate their connections to the SMU community. The week's events begin with a campus-wide community service project. Other events occur throughout the week including: Live from the Hilltop, a celebration revealing the Homecoming candidates, and the building of floats. Friday night features candidates, the building of floats, and "Pigskin Revue", a variety show which ahs been produced by the Mustang Band at every Homecoming since 1933. A festive parade featuring student-made floats and tailgating on the Boulevard fills the morning before the football game and presentation of the Homecoming Kind and Queen at halftime.
