BusinessWeek Ranks SMU Cox EMBA #11 and PMBA #13
SMU Cox Is the Top-Ranked Program in Texas for Working Professionals
BusinessWeek has ranked SMU's Cox School of Business EMBA program #11 among the top programs in the world and the Cox PMBA program #13 in the U.S. These Cox School MBA programs for working professionals are the only programs in Texas ranked in the Top 25.
BusinessWeek announced the rankings on Friday, Nov. 2.
"To have our EMBA and PMBA programs recognized by BusinessWeek as the best in Texas and among the best in the nation is terrific," said Albert W. Niemi, Jr., dean of the Cox School. "Our faculty, staff, current students, and graduates of these outstanding programs deserve the credit for this recognition."

SMU Cox has a long history of close connection with the thriving business culture of Dallas. In fact, the Cox School was founded in 1920 as the Department of Commerce at SMU at the request of the Dallas business community. These connections are just as strong today, offering unlimited benefits to students and alumni.
EMBA Criteria:
The EMBA ranking is composed of surveys of EMBA graduates and a survey of EMBA
program directors.
The SMU Cox EMBA program excelled in the following categories:
A+ for "curriculum"
A for teaching
Students had high praise for talented faculty, experienced students, cohort system
similar to full-time program and new learning facility.
PMBA Criteria:
BusinessWeek's PMBA rankings are based
on three measures: a survey assessing student satisfaction, an assessment of
academic quality, and survey questions assessing how students judge the value of
the program in achieving their goals.
The SMU Cox PMBA program excelled in the following categories:
#8 for Academic Quality
#11 for Student Satisfaction
Rated best for Career Switchers
In addition to being the top-ranked school in Texas, the Cox School received an
A+ for "curriculum" and an A for "teaching quality" (based on the student
survey).
