SMU Lyle Engineering students brainstorm big ideas for rebuilding Big Tex

When Big Tex went up in flames in October 2012, talk immediately turned to rebuilding the State Fair of Texas icon. Students in SMUs Lyle School of Engineering recently brainstormed ideas for a 21st century version, ranging from using smart phones to trigger a personal Big Tex response (Howdy, Bob!) to giving Tex the ability to move, daily to different locations in Fair Park. As seen in this slide show, the tools for ingenuity were a simple white board and scads of sticky notes.
