MEADOWS MUSEUM PRESENTS FREE CINCO DE MAYO "FAMILY DAY," MAY 5

DALLAS (SMU): The Meadows Museum celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a free "Family Day" on Sunday, May 5 from 1-4 p.m. The event will include face painting, storytelling and docent-guided tours of the museum. The Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl will perform, and local dance artist Rebecca Garcia Arango will present a performance lecture about the history of Mexico. Music students and faculty from the Meadows School of the Arts will offer a "Music in the Meadows" concert, and a make-and-take art activity will allow visitors of all ages to create "Ojos de Dios," or God's Eyes. Visitors can also try their hand at sketching in the Jones Great Hall, or watch an area artist demonstrate techniques for painting on tin. Light refreshments will be served.

Admission to Family Day is free. The museum is located at 5900 Bishop Blvd. on the campus of Southern Methodist University. Parking is available in the museum's underground garage. For more information, call the museum at 214-768-2516.
