DALLAS (SMU) -- The Meadows Museum celebrates the holidays with “Family Day” on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 1-4 p.m. The event will include face painting, “Storytelling in the Galleries,” holiday refreshments and performances of seasonal music by the Meadows Jazz Trio. At 1:30 p.m., the Aztlan Academy of Ethnic Heritage of Texas will present “Nuestra Navidad,” a folk dance suite depicting the Christmas story. A “make-and-take” art activity will allow visitors of all ages to create their own gift bags using glitter, ribbons, sequins and other decorative items. Visitors can also try their hand at sketching in the Jones Great Hall, or watch area artist Kevin Obregon demonstrate techniques for painting on canvas.

Admission to Family Day is free. The museum is located at 5900 Bishop Blvd. on the campus of Southern Methodist University. Parking is available in the museum’s underground garage. For more information, call the museum at 214-768-2614.
